An investigation has reportedly been opened within the Presidency of the Republic as reports have emerged that some staff of the Unity Palace have indulged in the constant smuggling of Champagne from the Unity Palace.
We gathered the champagne reportedly stolen from the presidency is then sold in the black market.
The incident of stolen wine at the Presidency was first brought to public knowledge by EcoMartin Newspaper on February 18.
The article on EcoMartin also specified that the smugglers don’t even care to remove the tag from these bottles which show that they are from the Presidency of the Republic.
It also noted that most of these smuggled drinks are sold for at least 45,000FCFA. However, these prices differ depending on the Flavors.
