One of Cameroon’s longest bridges constructed over the river Sanaga in the Mbam and Kim Division of the Centre region has been inaugurated.
The bridge which is considered a jewel was launched Friday by Cameroon’s public works Minister, Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi.
He was accompanied during the exercise by Public Contracts Minister, Ibrahim Talba Malla.
The Brigde is part of Batchenga-Ntui road linking the Centre region to the northern part of the country.
The construction of the bridge of has been described by locals as a welcome relief.
Until, now locals in the area went through the ordeal of cross the river few a ferryboat which resulted in several accidents.
Several persons are said to have died while crossing the river via the ferryboat.
